Job Description

KogniVera IT Solutions is looking for an L1 Linux/GCP Support Engineer to provide technical support for cloud-based infrastructure, primarily focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux environments. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving first-level technical issues while collaborating with higher-level support engineers and system administrators to maintain system stability.

Requirements

  • Monitor and respond to system alerts, incidents, and requests promptly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to Linux servers, GCP services, and network connectivity
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Networking
  • Perform basic system administration tasks, such as managing users, permissions, and file systems in Linux
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support following established escalation protocols
  • Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and closure of support requests in the ticketing system
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance and efficiency in infrastructure management
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and third-party vendors to provide updates and resolutions
  • Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support coverage when required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Linux systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and experience with command-line tools
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud computing concepts
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow) and IT support processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical issues
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to work in a shift-based or on-call support environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Linux (LPIC-1, RHCSA) or Google Cloud (GCP Associate)
  • Experience with automation tools like Bash, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins) is an advantage
