What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cloud Consultant (Engineer III) at Verizon, you will develop and support cloud infrastructure, focusing on deployment automation pipelines, tooling, and ensuring high reliability. You will have an opportunity to innovate by solving unique challenges and building scalable, secure cloud solutions.
🔹 Cloud Platform Development
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance AWS cloud platforms.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability for critical network functions.
🔹 Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Automate cloud infrastructure management with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to maintain consistency.
🔹 Monitoring & Alerting
- Use AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Zabbix, and Grafana for monitoring system health.
- Configure proactive alerts to minimize downtime and improve performance.
🔹 CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Develop and optimize Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance automation and efficiency.
🔹 Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices for AWS services.
- Configure IAM roles, VPC security, encryption, and compliance policies.
🔹 Performance & Cost Optimization
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Analyze cloud usage patterns and implement cost-saving strategies.
🔹 Incident Response & Troubleshooting
- Leverage Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, and monitoring tools to troubleshoot production issues.
- Take ownership of critical incidents and ensure timely resolution.
🔹 Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-based solutions.
- Mentor and support team members while sharing best practices.
🔹 Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures and configurations.
- Provide performance metrics, status reports, and cost analyses to leadership.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
- Experience scaling, securing, and optimizing AWS infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Zabbix, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption, compliance).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
✅ Preferred Skills:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.
- Knowledge of AWS security tools like GuardDuty, Inspector, KMS.
- Experience with cost optimization strategies in AWS.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage production incidents.
