The Economist Group is hiring Cloud Support Engineer – Gurugram

The Economist Group is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to support and enhance its global cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS. This role involves managing cloud environments, optimizing performance and cost, implementing security best practices, and collaborating across technical teams to maintain both cloud and on-premise systems.

• Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and reliable AWS infrastructure solutions
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including exposure to GCP and Azure
• Optimize cloud resource usage for cost-efficiency and performance
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, New Relic, etc.)
• Enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies and encryption
• Manage cloud-related incidents and support infrastructure escalations from the Operations team
• Maintain documentation, policies, and procedures aligned with regulatory standards
• Stay updated on cloud trends and recommend relevant improvements

Requirements

• Extensive experience with AWS and exposure to on-premise environments
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture and connectivity (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub
• Hands-on experience managing infrastructure in collaboration with Security, DevOps, and TechOps teams
• Experience using Atlassian tools for workload planning and tracking
• Familiarity with enterprise backup and recovery tools and methodologies
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot both cloud and on-premise infrastructure
• Strong focus on security, reliability, availability, and recovery (SPAR)

Nice to Have

• General awareness of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure
• Experience working in global, cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks for cloud infrastructure
