Role Overview The SRE DevOps Engineer Intern in the IPP (Infrastructure, Planning and Process) team will work alongside software teams spanning AI, Deep Learning, Graphics, and Autonomous Vehicles. You’ll help maintain cloud infrastructure supporting thousands of engineers and hundreds of thousands of automated jobs daily across heterogeneous environments. This internship offers hands-on experience with cloud automation, monitoring, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, innovative setting.

• Develop and enhance cloud automation, reporting, and monitoring tools.
• Contribute proactively to documentation, automation workflows, and process improvements.
• Build and operate scalable services with rapid iteration cycles.
• Own small projects supporting internal process engineering initiatives.
• Gain practical knowledge of microservice development tools and infrastructure practices.
• Collaborate within a fast-moving DevOps engineering team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming (Java, Python preferred).
• Familiarity with container management tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and source code management systems (Git, GitLab).
• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, HBase).
• Ability to create documentation, presentations, and training materials from technical content.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS, plus networking fundamentals.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
