Morningstar is hiring Site Reliability Engineer – Navi Mumbai, India

Morningstar is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its data and analytics team in Navi Mumbai. This entry-level role is ideal for professionals with 0–2 years of experience, aiming to gain hands-on expertise in system reliability, data operations, monitoring, and incident management. You’ll work across mission-critical infrastructure that supports Morningstar’s global financial data platforms

• Monitor data systems, investigate issues, and drive resolutions.
• Support deployment processes and participate in release management.
• Coordinate with teams around data lake releases and infrastructure updates.
• Manage alerts, triage events, and serve as Incident Commander for P1/P2 events.
• Build dashboards and automate checks for data quality and system performance.
• Participate in access management and compliance processes.
• Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with DevOps and data engineering teams for operational readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a tech support, SRE, or DevOps role.
• Familiarity with Linux, log management, and server maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of version control, monitoring, and incident management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services: S3, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Glue, Lake Formation.
• Familiarity with data formats (Parquet, Avro, ORC) and monitoring tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, Splunk, VictorOps).
• Exposure to scripting (Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Jenkins).
• Understanding of CI/CD, audit frameworks, and data lineage tracking.
