Junior Cloud Field Engineer
Job Description
Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is hiring a Junior Cloud Field Engineer to help enterprises deploy and manage private and public cloud infrastructure. This role involves designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud solutions with Linux, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Requirements
- Work across the Linux stack, including networking, storage, and system-level optimizations.
- Develop open-source infrastructure-as-code using Python.
- Architect and implement cloud solutions using OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and public clouds.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to deploy and troubleshoot cloud-native environments.
- Participate in global team sprints and conferences (up to 25% travel).
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, and OpenStack.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Networking and virtualization knowledge.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for company and customer engagements.
