Degreed is hiring Release Engineer – Bengaluru, India (Hybrid)

Degreed is seeking a Release Engineer to manage the software release lifecycle, ensuring timely, high-quality deliveries across global teams. This hybrid role requires strong coordination skills and technical expertise to plan, execute, and improve release workflows. You'll work closely with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams to enhance CI/CD processes, manage dependencies, and drive operational efficiency.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across teams and time zones
• Oversee hotfixes for US and India teams, ensuring quick resolution of critical issues
• Partner with product and QA to validate releases and ensure quality standards
• Improve CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
• Define and enforce quality gates for release readiness
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the release process
• Act as the point of contact for all release-related communications
• Document release workflows and maintain best practices
• Track KPIs to measure and optimize release performance

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Release Engineer, Release Manager, or DevOps Engineer
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, or Prometheus
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong communication, coordination, and project management skills
