Cloud Support Engineer (Migration) – DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean is hiring cloud support engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality technical support in a dynamic environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working directly with customers to ensure smooth migration of websites and applications to the DigitalOcean platform.

• Provide top-notch support and solutions to customers via tickets and emails.
• Maintain a customer-first approach with a strong sense of empathy.
• Work in a 24/7 support environment with rotating shifts (nights and weekends).
• Monitor and respond to communications and alerts on Slack.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve processes and reporting.
• Meet SLAs and support KPIs, including response time, CSAT, and resolution time.
• Migrate sites from various hosting providers to the Cloudways (CW) platform.

Job Requirements

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud (GCE), and DigitalOcean (DO).
• Strong understanding of system and networking concepts with troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS).
• Knowledge and experience with content management systems (WordPress, Magento, Laravel, etc.).
• Practical expertise in web servers (Apache, Nginx).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for ticket-based support.
• Working knowledge of databases (MySQL, MariaDB).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge is a plus (PHP, Bash, Python).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-availability production environment.
• Prior experience in 24x7 production operations, preferably for PaaS or cloud service providers.
• Educational qualification: BS/BE in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
